This event is an invite from CHP for all commercial vehicle drivers to bring their commercial vehicles to the CHP Northbound Gilroy CVEF to be inspected. During the inspection the driver is invited to “walk along” with the inspector and see how a Level 1 inspection is conducted and what it entails. If during the inspection any violations are found, they will be documented on the inspection report. If during the inspection any “out-of-service” conditions are found, the company and/or driver will need to make arrangements to have the vehicle and/or driver corrected prior to departure from the Gilroy Northbound CVEF.
On this day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. there will be NO citations issued to the drivers or carriers. During the hours listed, the California Trucking Association—Central Coast Unit will be providing a “healthy snack” for the drivers.
