With 25+ years spent in local and state government, private sector development and nonprofit advocacy, Lisa Craig has engaged and educated local, state and federal officials on issues ranging from military housing development to funding for land and water conservation to enhancing tax credits for the redevelopment of historic properties.
Most recently as a local government planner in Annapolis, MD she worked closely with local and state elected officials to support the development of a model planning initiative for the City of Annapolis and the State of Maryland. Her efforts resulted in the passage of groundbreaking local legislation for the protection of Annapolis' historic seaport and the inclusion of millions in the state budget for flood protection in Maryland's Capital City.
She serves on the board of Preservation Action, a nonprofit advocacy organization based in Washington DC and has lobbied on behalf of downtown revitalization and historic preservation at the state and federal level for all of her professional career. In her current role as Principal of The Craig Group, she facilitates workshops, conducts webinars and provides training to grassroots advocates on best practices in engaging with elected officials at the local, state and federal levels.
